📖 Overview

The 18th Legionary Mechanised Company is the battalion's main fighting force, made up of tankers specialised in Multicrew Tank Combat 4. The 18th forms the armoured backbone of the Combined Arms Battalion, regularly taking the field in professional battles against opposing groups.

To join, applicants must pass a tryout by accumulating 2 points worth of qualifications from the list below. Submit your tryout request in MTC Tryout request on Discord.

🎯 General Skills Expected

Crew role: Given 1–3 other crewmen of similar skill, should be able to highscore/topscore a public server easily.

Support role: Given their tools (points for arty/decent map for infantry, etc.), should be able to assist an average 18th mechanised crew to the point of one of the members topscoring or completely dominating a public server.

Crew Roles
WW2/CW Gunning

Knowledge and usage of reticle aiming system, rangefinding with "V" and MG, WW2/CW tank weakspots; on a high level — accurate eyeballing.

Modern Gunning

Knowledge and usage of FCS aiming system, Modern tank weakspots; on a high level — accurate wallbanging on info from support, shooting down fast moving targets e.g. strafing helicopters.

Driving

Knowledge and usage of accurate gear shift, RPM gauge, positioning strategies, tank angling; on a high level — commanding/spotting while driving without issues.

Commanding (Mic required)

Accurate callouts of movement, leadership over the crew, spotting and relaying info to others; on a high level — commanding multiple crews to work together on a small scale, e.g. attacking a dug-in enemy tank.

General Support
Combat Infantry

Knowledge and usage of infantry tactics and differences between game modes, tank weakspots, ability to operate alone; on a high level — ability to completely deny enemy advancement over a specific area of the map.

Artillery

Knowledge and usage of artillery positioning and aiming strategies, proper targeting, artillery calculator; on a high level — ability to significantly impact the game without external information support, e.g. drones or friendly crews.

Specialised Support
Support Infantry

Scouting, usage of drones, Engineer class; on a high level — ability to replace combat infantry in terms of area denial.

Helicopter Piloting

Scouting, proper and direct rocket strafing, avoiding enemy anti-air; on a high level — ability to completely incapacitate multiple enemy tanks in short rocket runs.

Extra Support

Judged by the officer, mostly for support roles too specialised to receive a standard qualification; on a high level — game impact comparable to general support.

⚙️ Additional Systems

CLD Corporal Grant

If your rank is Corporal or above in CAB's trainings server (CLD), you can apply for an automatic grant of one qualification in your request. Simply point out which qualification you want and provide proof of your rank. More info in Armoured Server.

7LEC Sapper Grant

If you are in 7LEC and hold the rank of Sapper, you can apply for an automatic grant of either Artillery or Support Infantry. The current 7LEC Field Marshal must be aware of your application — ping/DM him.

Temporary Grant (Battle Vouch)

If you participated in a battle with a Temporary Grant, you can request your crew and the leading officer to vouch for your performance to convert it into a full qualification. Vouching can extend to internals or trainings depending on your performance.

There will be weekly-ish pings of @Unqualified to remind people to schedule a tryout.

📝 How to Apply

Step 1

Be at least a CAB Private — complete CAB recruit training first if you haven't already.

Step 2

Check the qualifications list above and make sure you can demonstrate at least 2 points worth. Use any additional system grants if eligible.

Step 3

Post your tryout request in #🪖 mtc-tryout-request using the format below, then ping the relevant tryout officer for your timezone.
